Designer + Builder

Hiiii, I'm Pelumi, a product designer who's never been satisfied with just making things look good.

As a child, I had this annoying habit of taking things apart just to see what was inside. I'd get scolded for it constantly, but I couldn't help myself, I needed to understand what made those things tick. That curiosity shaped the kind of designer I am today: someone who doesn't just want to design the interface, but needs to understand what's happening underneath.

For the past four years, I've been designing digital financial experiences in Nigeria; first at Lendsqr, and now at Kuda, where I'm building the design systems that keep our banking experience consistent and intuitive.

But I didn't just want to design the systems. I wanted to build them too.

So I started learning to code. I picked up Webflow and Framer, started experimenting with building my own tools, and used AI as my coding partner to turn ideas into working prototypes. These days, I'm obsessed with design systems that scale beautifully and make life easier for both designers and developers.

I'm working toward becoming a UX or Design System Engineer. I want to be the person who can solve problems from both sides; design the solution and build it.

When I'm not designing or coding, you'll find me at the gym, binging anime, grinding through Marvel Rivals matches, or trying not to burn whatever new recipe I'm testing.
